German Shepherd

I'm currently adding a whole flock of German breeds to the collection, so it is only fitting that they have a German Shepherd to keep them in order. Even after almost twenty years of carving these little guys, it is always exciting the first time a new piece comes out of the kiln and the German Shepherd was no exception.

Christmas in Birmingham

Charlotte Woodson is a store in Birmingham that is know for its window displays, so much so that they have graced a well known blog by Virginia Jones.   http://birminghamalabamadailyphoto.blogspot.com/
I am honored to have had the creatures appear twice this month, thanks to Viriginia's photos and Dinah's window design.

Sunday Carving

It's a snowy sunday morning, the kiln is cooling and everything that can be done with orders has been done, so it is time to carve. I'm working on a series of five new sizes of sheep to go with antique porcelain dolls. I didn't used to think that smaller sizes would work because of the fur, but wool works for the lambs so it should work for smaller sheep. This photo shows the first two smaller sizes and there are three more to come.
